Norwegians blend in very well in Australia, and are quite rare, so it is hard to find other Norwegians to talk to.
Norwegians often try to reconnect with the Norwegian community when they have children, perhaps due to the efforts to raise the children bilingual. If a language isn't used much, the skill starts to atrophy. Both of these issues were an issue for me so I started to feel the need to get to know some other Norwegians.
