The heat was a nightmare in Delhi. Female tourists everywhere were wearing shorts and sleeveless t-shirts, disrespecting local decency etiquette and encouraging lechery from the Indian men. I respectfully and fearfully wore sufficient clothing and sweated rivers. Half the men in the cramped, stinking streets yelled ‘Hello Madam!’ to each of us as we strode past.

On the day I experimented with wearing a sari, their eyes lit up with joy and they all called out with even more gusto, "Marry Indian man! Marry Indian man!"
